Ducks on the Dan Derby Duck Race
The South Boston-Halifax Junior Woman's Club has teamed up with Destination Downtown South Boston in a fundraiser entitled "Ducks on the Dan Derby Duck Race."
Participants can adopt as many ducks as they like by adopting them online through the South Boston - Halifax Junior Woman's Club website. The ducks will be released into the Dan River on May 17th in conjunction with a Family Fun Day. The first ducks that cross the finish line win great prizes, such as $5000 cash, vacation packages, an LCD large screen tv, and more... (Winners need not be present to win.)
The ducks cost $5.00 each to adopt and packages are available for multiple purchases. The JWC's website, www.sobojwc.com, has a link where you can adopt ducks. Please feel free to adopt a duck directly from our page. We're in a contest with other groups, and if you adopt a duck directly from our page, the JWC gets a little credit from each purchase.
**The local fire department will be cleaning up the ducks and any litter caused by the fundraiser, so we will be keeping the river clean, and DDSB has a permit from the Corps of Engineers to use the river for this event.**

Kelly, help yourself - I basically just tweaked what Erin sent out, so it wasn't even "mine" to begin with :)
