They may see the good you do as self serving.
Continue to do good.
They may see your generosity as grandstanding.
Continue to be generous.
They may see your warm and caring nature as a weakness.
Continue to be warm and caring.
For you see, in the end, it is between you and God.
It was never between you and them anyway.

I found myself sighing with relief when I read the 10 questions article. I know I would never ask a question like that to any parent.
A girlfriend of mine, who is now divorced, has three children with her ex-husband. He is Korean and she is white. All of her children are gorgeous and remarkably different in their beauty. A woman at a bbq found it completely alright to comment on this and say something like, "Are they all yours?" and even went so far as to imply infidelity. I was glaring DAGGERS at this lady. I just have to wonder what the hell is wrong with people !
There was recently an article in Parenting magazine where a woman was sharing her experiences with people asking her where she "got" her daughter. She is the girl's biological mother, however, mom is Caucasian & dad is Korean. It was really interesting. I think she eventually decided on using the response "From my uterus."
