Animal "encounters" that make me smile:

• The alpacas I pass on my way to work everyday have been shaved for the summer. In an odd way, it's quite possible the young ones are even cuter this way. Maybe it's b/c they remind me of Max when he's just been shaved.

• Last night, at about 4 in the morning, I saw a fox when I took Max outside. Seeing that just felt really special and neat like it was some type of good omen.
